SUMMARY AND COMMENT: Good article and infographic about mobile apps and your privacy. Mobile apps can create privacy issues at four levels/ layers (application, hardware, network and operating system). Privacy breaches can range anywhere from permitting access to your data to letting an attacker control your device.
Good apps let you you control what information and data the app has access to and what gets shared or is accessible to the developer or others. They also do not permit anyone to control your phone. Alternatively, apps should clearly identify the data it has access to as well as whether and how your data will be shared. No app should permit anyone to have administrative access to your device.
Mobile users need to be cautious when installing apps and consider the potential privacy threat especially when you have sensitive/ confidential data on your mobile device. Also need to consider the risks when using mobile Wi-Fi.
